"HAPPINESS IS THE RICHEST THING WE WILL EVER OWN."

STORY TIME: THAT'S NOT MY JOB

This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to do and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody would do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

TOOLBOX TIP: EYE PROTECTION

ARTICLE BY ERNwest

Every year, nearly 8,000 construction employees suffer from serious eye injuries. Some of these injuries cause permanent blindness, forever changing their lives. Oddly enough, many of those injuries occur while eye protection is being worn. Let’s take a look at how eye injuries can occur on-site even while wearing eye protection.

- Glasses being worn improperly; if your glasses become too dirty or foggy,

do not slide them down your nose so you can see over the top. Replace them

when necessary.

- Indirectly looking at your work; unless you are wearing goggles...there are

still openings on your classes wear debris can enter the eye. Bend your neck

and look directly at your work.

- When operating a screw gun just above the ground, the gun is often turned

sideways...the vent from the gun will likely blow dust or metal shavings from

the ground into your eye.

- Use caution when lifting objects overhead; debris can easily fall off the

object into your eyes.

Be careful out there and think about what safety procedures you should follow before you begin your work!
