This unique remodel addition project served as a testament to what exceptional design can do to transform an existing home to better suit its new owners.  The existing home was small and lacking natural light while the garage was oversized and dominating due to the previous owner’s passion for a collection of large vehicles.  Maintaining the large garage space and redefining it to house indoor sports courts and numerous parking spaces was critical in setting the tone of the proposed addition.  Located in Redmond on Lake Sammamish, the large windows bring an abundance of natural light into the space and is accentuated by the various large double height volumes.  In order to accommodate a large family this home is separated into various areas where there are communal functions, yet at the same time creates spaces that are secluded from each other for more privacy.  The accenting of subtle elements brings a level of tradition while still maintaining a transitional aesthetic style.
